Summer of Fire by Linda Jacobs Club Discussions: Many felt they were trudging through the novel as it seemed too long and could have been edited in areas; however, it was fascinating to learn about the history of the fires in the Yellowstone area in the 1980s. A few members have been to Yellowstone, so they shared their experiences. Additionally, we found it ironic that the snow that started to fall that helped extinguish the fires was on September 11, 1988, thirteen years prior to the heinous terrorists attacks in the United States. Finally, we were disappointed with the ending. There was no real resolution for the characters set up in the storyline. One member gave the book 3.5 out of 5. | Meeting Attendance: Karla Teri Kathy Alicia Pamela Diane Sophia Cheryl |
