Othello Anticipation Guide
So what is Othello all about? Before you begin reading the play, watch the Discovery Education video The Plot of Othello and SparkNotes: Othello summary on YouTube.
This will give you a good overview of the play before you actually read it. It is not a substitute for reading and analyzing the actual play. But it is important that you understand the play in order to analyze it.
Did a friend ever tell you, "You have to read this book. It is excellent!"? Well, getting excited to read a piece of literature is important. So, click on the Anticipation Guide to the left. Consider the questions posed because they relate to the Shakespearean drama Othello, which you are preparing to read.
After you consider the questions, you need to know what a drama actually is. A play or drama is written in differently than your typical novel. Find out the components of a drama by watching the YouTube video on the left.
