Journalist Research and Webpage Project |
Directions
1. Students will choose one of the journalist from the list below in order to research. There are no duplicates; therefore, teacher will assist students with choice.
2. Students will research a journalist finding important information about the person's life, achievements, awards, contributions to journalism, etc.
3. Students will create a page on their website with the research. Specific requirements listed below.
4. Students will present their pages to the class as an oral presentation, utilizing note cards and the webpage.

Requirements

- Wikipedia may only be used to find sources. It CANNOT be a source.
- Research the journalist using reliable websites, such as newspapers, news organizations, the journalist's own website, and FHS library databases.
- A handwritten rough draft of information must be viewed by teacher before you create your webpage. Students are to create and write their own report, not just copy and paste from other websites. That is plagiarism.
- Keep track of websites used to gather information. Students will need to link sources on the webpage.
- Minimum of 3 different sources required.
- Minimum of 3 different photos required. Photos must be of creative commons licensing or in the Public Domain. YouTube videos may count toward one photo.
